Flodida Gulf Beaches 2010
While on our trip to the Gulf Beaches we took a cruise in the Charlotte Harbor in around and under the Peace Bridge. We saw dolphins and had a good time aboard Good Time II. We visited the state park in Englewood “Little Stump Beach Park” only $3.00 a car load; an excellent family bargain. That night we saw a fine sunset to the West and a rainbow to the East. After dropping Allison and Dexter off at the airport for their return to the New Mexico desert, Sharon and I headed to Siesta Key Beach. This beach is one of the finest in the world. Its long stretch of ground white quartz sand never gets hot on the feet. The water was warm, beautiful and oil free. Siesta Key is loaded with restaurants, etc and seems like a great place for a family get together. For pictures go to:

Punta Gorda condo on the Peace River
Allison, Dexter, Sharon and I went to stay at the condo in Punta Gorda for the balance of their stay in Florida. The condo is in Fishermen’s Village in Charlotte Harbor. With a large pool and a beach very close it makes for a relaxing end to summer. In Gainesville schools start back next Monday for public schools and the local colleges; so Gainesville is busy with back to school shopping and returning college students. Pictures of Dexter at the pool and a neighborhood water park. Enjoy we did! Pictures on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=191773&id=617928368&l=a66f49a05a

Dexter and Allison visit Great Grandmother Dottie
Dexter and Allison visit Great Grandmother Dottie
Today we spent the day at Nana Dottie and Clint’s home in Fernandina Beach. Dexter splashed around in their pool and then we took him to see the Atlantic Ocean and play on the beach. It seems the local birds and dogs were more interesting. Oh well, the sand was fun!
PS I have included a few pictures of Dottie's home for Heather to see on the photo link.
